I’m a consultant based out of Las Vegas, Nevada with over 30 years of experience in acquiring, scaling, integrating, and successfully exiting businesses across a number of industries.
For decades, I struggled being stuck as a prisoner inside my own business.
Sure. I was definitely making way more money than ever before. And I had a highly-profitable exit lined up should I ever want to call it quits…
But despite being a success “on paper,” I felt miserable and overworked.
And if that weren’t bad enough…
In 2008, I went through a hideous divorce and lost everything to my ex-wife (a lawyer).
Drained and financially ruined, I was forced to start over from scratch during the peak of The Great Recession.
Fortunately, I still had my education and life experience to help me move forward.
But more importantly, I discovered a simple (yet profound) truth during this time…
You see, small errors accumulated over long periods can cause huge disasters. That’s why you need to check in and course-correct often.
But that’s impossible if you’re always busy putting out fires in your business, right?
That’s why I created Eight Steps To Eight Figures…
It’s a framework that allowed me to rebuild my life and business from the bottom up in just under a few years.
Today, I own and lead three successful businesses… each of which makes more than $10 million in annual revenue with little day-to-day involvement from me.
More importantly? I’m in the marriage of my dreams and have the freedom to pursue my passions (like earning my pilot’s license).
Without a doubt, the Eight Steps To Eight-Figures system is what allowed me to successfully turn my stress and struggle into wealth and freedom — once and for all.
And it can do the same for you if you’d like.
I subscribe to the Kaizen concept of taking steps in the name of progress (instead of waiting for perfection).
Courage precedes growth. And we can only grow when we are willing to take steps forward despite our fears.
Avoid staying still or taking steps backwards. For a true master is the student who is never done learning.
We only experience meaning and fulfillment in our hearts when we provide service to those around us.
It’s impossible to train for attitude. And even more impossible to work with someone who only cares about themselves.
At 15, my father pulled me out of high school to enroll me in a trade program to learn HVAC (Heat, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning). As a real estate investor, HVAC was his biggest expense… and he hoped to cut it in half by having his son learn the trade. Admittedly, I had every right to feel bitter and angry. But instead, I chose to make the best out of a rough situation.
At 19, I had the opportunity to teach HVAC at the College of Southern Nevada. It’s when I first discovered my passion for teaching others that got me to embrace HVAC as a career. Not long after, I became the Department Chair of the Air Conditioning department.
While teaching, I started my own HVAC business, R&R Refrigeration… which focused on commercial jobs and high-profile contracts for large brands like Costco. It was a huge success, and I was able to sell it after eight years to pursue my passion for teaching.
In 2008, I met my brilliant and beautiful wife, Mary. She is my best friend and the love of my life. And I am so grateful and fortunate to have her by my side.
I built out a business called Climate Control Experts… which spanned six states and made the Inc. 500 list for “Fastest Growing HVAC Company” for three years straight.
To solve the skilled-labor gap, I purchased the National Technical Institute (a trade school in Las Vegas)… and had it expanded across three states while launching an innovative, national program for teaching the trade online. It currently produces over 2000+ annual graduates and has also been recognized in the Inc. 5000 for three years straight.
I started 189 Investments… a microcap private equity investment firm that allowed me to invest in businesses I’m passionate about.
I also begin mentoring clients.
I attended the Birthing of Giants Fellowship Program (an educational course for owners of growing companies). Since then, I’ve become a resident speaker for all fellowship classes at M.I.T. and Princeton… speaking to business owners on Financial Business Model Transformation, and even being invited to speak at Oxford University in England.
I sell Climate Control Experts to Private Equity.
I also get my pilot’s license. And in doing so, I realized that flying a plane is a lot like running a business. Both require tons of ongoing attention to reach the desired destination.
